According to the Highway Patrol report, Danny W. Gibbons, 57, Monett, driving a 2006 Yamaha PJR motorcycle, lost control causing the vehicle to travel off the south side of the roadway, striking the median and ejecting Gibbons.
Dr. McMurry of Mercy Hospital pronounced Gibbons dead at 2:24 p.m.
The fatality was the 111th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
