The Springfield Police Department has completed an annual report that highlights the department’s activities during 2017.
In his opening message in the report, Police Chief Paul Williams highlights some of the highs and lows as seen by the department throughout the year.
There were some wins for City-County collaboration in 2017. The jail is once again open for municipal prisoners and a jail expansion is coming, along with a Family Justice Center which is designed for survivors of domestic violence.
The success of investigative operations, the community’s engagement in SPD’s outreach initiatives, and the promotions and awards received by department staff throughout the year are also detailed in the report.
The SPD encourages citizens to review the report and welcomes feedback via the SPD website.
