Springfield parole absconder shot and killed after waving gun at Greene County deputies

Deputies were involved in a shooting this morning in the 9400 block of East State Highway YY. A patrol deputy attempted to stop a vehicle and a pursuit ensued.

At the end of the pursuit the suspect fled, he brandished a 1911 .45 caliber handgun at the deputies, and stated I have a full clip, the suspect was then shot and killed. All deputies are ok and more information will be released when we can.

The deceased suspect is identified as William Ray Simcoe Jr., Springfield. Simcoe was wanted for burglary and was a parole absconder that was previously on electronic monitoring. Simcoe was known to be armed and dangerous.
