On March 17, members of the Springfield Police Department conducted a sobriety saturation patrol.
Officers were actively searching for impaired drivers during this patrol. Throughout the operation, 64 drivers were contacted.
Seven drivers were arrested for DWI, two for outstanding felony warrants, two for outstanding misdemeanor warrants, and one for a weapons violation. There were also 27 tickets issued for various traffic violations.
This operation was done to reduce the number of injury crashes involving impaired drivers. Remember, You Drink, You Drive, You Lose.
