Reeds Spring man arrested on felony drug charges following high-speed chase

(From the Stone County Sheriff's Office)

On Monday morning at approximately 2:45 am, Stone County deputies were dispatched to a residence on Vista Ridge Drive off State Highway DD in Stone County. They were advised there was a possible home invasion and the suspect had fled the scene. The owner of the residence stated they thought they knew who the suspect was and gave a name.

Deputies responding were familiar with the suspect and a possible vehicle. As they neared the intersection of Eagle Ridge Drive and State Highway DD, they met a vehicle they thought could be the suspect. As they passed the driver of the vehicle was illuminated by the deputies' lights and they could identify him as the one named by the victim.

Deputies then turned around and attempted to stop the vehicle and the vehicle failed to yield and continued up State Highway DD at a high rate of speed.

Speeds in excess of 65 plus mph were reached multiple times during the pursuit as they traveled up State Highway DD, across Campfire Drive to Talking Rocks Road and then up Talking Rocks Road to Business Mo 13.

At the intersection of Talking Rocks Road and Business 13 a set of Stop Sticks were successfully deployed and the vehicle continued north onto Business 13 where it started to lose the rubber from its flatten tires. The vehicle turned into Claybough Plaza and then drove to the rear of the Plaza. While on the parking lot of the Plaza the vehicle did come into contact with one of the pursuing Patrol Vehicles. In the rear of the plaza, the driver stopped the vehicle and exited and was taken into custody.

The Driver, identified as 40-year-old Daniel Porter Walker of Reeds Spring. He had two active Felony Narcotic Warrants for his arrest.(one was for Possession of Narcotics and one was a Probation Violation) He was taken into custody and transported to the Stone County Jail on the warrants. His current bond is at $35,000.00 Cash only from the two combined warrants.

Deputies submitted Probably Cause Statements to the Prosecuting Attorney and we expect further charges from this incident to be issued sometime today.

This investigation is ongoing.
