A stolen car recovered, meth taken off of the streets, and a wanted parole absconder arrested last night.
March 18th, 2018, at approximately 1:51am, Deputy Marshall observed a 1986 Chevy pickup make a lane violation at Sunshine and Zimmer. Upon running the plate, he discovered the truck had been reported stolen.
Deputy Marshall attempted to stop the truck in the parking lot of Walmart near Sunshine and Zimmer. The driver did not stop and the vehicle fled east bound on Sunshine. After a short pursuit. The truck jumped a curb near West bypass and College and the driver, Austin Ward, fled east on foot.
Deputy Marshall and Deputy Weiss detained the two passengers Rachel Slovig and Zachary Flutz. Springfield, MO Police Department assisted with a perimeter. A citizen noticed Ward in their neighbor’s yard and notified us. Since they no longer had a vehicle we provided all 3 of these thieves with a shuttle ride to the jail.
Ward was arrested and charged with Tampering 1st, Felony Drug Possession (approximately 6.53 grams of meth) and trafficking stolen IDs. He also had a $20,000 warrant for dangerous drugs, and was a parole absconder for burglary.
Slovig was charged with Tampering 2nd and Felony Drug Possession (approximately 3.67 grams of meth)
Fultz was charged with Tampering 2nd
