Aurora man charged with domestic assault, unlawful use of a weapon

As a result of Saturday’s incident in the Prospect Mobile Home Park, Anthony Perez of Aurora has been charged with Domestic Assault, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Armed Criminal Action.

All charges are mere accusations until fully adjudicated in the court of law.

Earlier today (Saturday), AMPD was called to the Prospect Mobile Home Park for a report of a domestic disturbance in progress and that the suspect was armed with a firearm.

 
As officers arrived, the victim ran from the house to our arriving officers. After making sure she was safe, AMPD began to engage the suspect.

 
Ultimately, the suspect disarmed himself and resisted arrest. After a brief struggle, he was successfully apprehended. Our staff nor the suspect was seriously injured. The suspect was subsequently transported for medical clearance and then taken to the Lawrence County Jail. The firearm (a handgun) was seized. The victim was not seriously injured during the incident.
