Mount Vernon Police Department accepting applications for Citizens Police Academy

The Mt Vernon Police Department is now accepting applications for the 2019 Citizens Police Academy.

The police academy is designed to give attendees information about the various divisions and assignments within the police department. This includes information about the dispatch center, patrol division, detective division, narcotics division, K9 division and other specialties like the High RiskTeam and Bike Patrol.

The academy consists of five, two hours sessions. The sessions being on Tuesday January 29th and continues each Tuesday night until the graduation on Tuesday February 26th. There will be food served each night.

Those interested may stop by or call the police department with any questions.

Applications may be picked up at the police department or emailed to you. If you would like an application emailed to you, submit a request to shatton@mvpd.org
