The Springfield Police Department warns the public about recent incidents of scam calls in which the caller is representing himself as an SPD officer. The caller then demands money from the target to prevent charges being filed.
Be advised that SPD will never call you and request money over the phone for any reason. If you receive a call matching the above description, contact Springfield Police at (417) 864-1810.
