(From the Greene County Sheriff's Office)

On July 28, 2019, at approximately 7:37pm, Greene County Deputies responded to the Flying J truck stop in the 4900 block of W. Chestnut Expressway, to check the well-being of a child left in a vehicle.

When deputies arrived, they located a nearly 2-year-old child inside of a vehicle with no supervision.

Deputies were able to make entry into the vehicle and remove the child that was sweating profusely as the vehicle was not running.

The mother of the child was located inside the store and taken into custody.

She was booked into the Greene County Jail for endangering the welfare of a child, possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The child was seen by medical personnel and released to Children’s Division.
