According to the Highway Patrol report, Dustin C. Winter, 29, Springfield, driving a 2019 Ford Transit, was attempting to elude police and approached Mo 38 from I-44 at a high rate of speed causing the vehicle to roll down an embankment.
Winter was treated for serious injuries at Mercy Hospital, Springfield.
