A Wheaton man was cited for driving while intoxicated following a one-vehicle accident 1:28 a.m. today on MO 76 a half-mile south of Wheaton.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Mathew P. Oldnettle, 21, Wheaton, failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the left side of the road and overturned, ejecting Oldnettle.
Oldnettle, who was also cited for careless and imprudent driving and for not wearing a seat belt, was treated for serious injuries at Mercy Joplin.
