A Mount Vernon man was killed in a two-vehicle collision 1:18 a.m. today on the I-44 exit ramp at Halltown.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2021 Kia Forte driven by Jordan H. Collier, 21, Mount Vernon, struck the rear of a 2020 Kenworth Conventional semi tractor and trailer that was parked on the shoulder of the interstate.
Lawrence County Coroner Scott Lakin pronounced Collier dead at the scene at 1:44 a.m.
The fatality was the 15th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
