Springfield Police make arrests for burglary, assault

On Sunday afternoon, officers responded to a commercial burglary at Affordable Towing in the 1600 block of E. Florida.
 
Jacob McClain, 27, was stopped by officers while attempting to drive away and found with a firearm. Officers located Megan Buckner, 34, in a nearby vehicle with stolen property. Tierney Stoops, 22, and Michael Heston, 35, were inside the building with stolen items.
 
All four were arrested and booked into the Greene County Jail.

Officers responded to an assault at Martha’s Vineyard in the 200 block of W. Olive in the early hours on Sunday morning.
 
Destiny Jenkins, 24, and the victim were in a disturbance when Jenkins assaulted the victim. Jenkins was combative with officers and, in the process of being detained, also assaulted officers.
 
Jenkins was arrested and booked into the Greene County Jail for domestic assault, assault on a special victim, and property damage.
