Fordland woman killed, teen seriously injured in collision on 60

A Fordland woman was killed and a 16-year-old Fordland girl seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision 4:45 p.m. Tuesday on U. S. 60 at Fordland.

According to the Highway Patrol report, the 16-year-old lost control of the 2001 Buick LeSabre she was driving, crossed the median entering the westbound lanes and directly into the path of a 2017 Ford Focus driven by Karen S. Shoe, 74, Fordland, which struck the LeSabre broadside.

Webster County Assistant Coroner Robby Jernigan pronounced Shoe dead at the scene at 7:54 p.m.







The juvenile was taken to Cox South Hospital, Springfield, to be treated for serious injuries.

The fatality was the second of 2020 for Highway Patrol Troop D.
