According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Pedro Magana Wuiltron, 34, Buffalo, tried to pass a vehicle on a hill and struck a 2013 Jeep Wrangler driven by Anna D. Kane, 55, Elkland nearly head on.
Webster County Coroner Michael Taylor pronounced Wuiltron dead at the scene at 4:50 p.m.
Kane was airlifted to Mercy Hospital, Springfield, with serious injuries.
The fatality was the fourth this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
