Five people injured in two-vehicle crash near Purdy

Five people were injured in a two-vehicle crash 3:50 p.m. Friday on MO 37, one mile north of Purdy.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2011 Ford Edge driven by Richard A. Sandlin, 48, Exeter, was stopped, waiting on another vehicle to turn, when it was rear-ended by a 2015 Kia Soul driven by Monica R. Thornburg, 38, Monett.

Sandlin and a passenger in his vehicle, Ryan L. Sandlin, 9, Exeter, were treated for minor injuries at Mercy Hospital, Springfield. Thornburg and a passenger in her vehicle, Heather N Cates, 22, Monett, were treated for minor injuries at Cox Hospital, Springfield, while another passenger, Danielle M. Ray, 19, Monett, was treated for moderate injuries.
