Texas man charged with involuntary manslaughter following accident that kills Rolla man

A Texas man was charged with felony involuntary manslaughter following a five-vehicle accident 8:08 a.m. today on westbound I-44, east of MO 125 in Strafford, in which a Rolla man was killed.

According to the Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred as traffic was slowing on I-44, due to previous accidents. A 2005 Kenworth tractot-trailer driven by Narinder P. Singh, 44, Mansfield, Texas, was traveling in the right lane and failed to observe the slow or stopped traffic. Singh attempted to swerve into the left lane  to avoid a 2016 Kenworth tractot-trailer driven by Curtis D. Epp, 52, Henderson, Nebraska, but struck it anyway and lost control.

The Singh vehicle began to overturn entering the median, striking the guard cable, then hitting a 1997 Ford F-150 driven by Nathan S. Moore, 49, Waynesville, which was stopped in the right lane. The Moore vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, crossed the grass median and came to rest on the north outer road.

The Singh vehicle then struck a 2008 Ford F-150 driven by David D. Lambeth, 43, Rolla, in the left lane, with the impact driving the Lambeth vehicle into a 2016 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by Thomas W. Massey, 67, Klamath Falls, Oregon.

Lambeth was pronounced dead at the scene. The fatality was the ninth this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
