A Springfield man was killed when he ran a stop sign and pulled into the path of a truck at 8:18 a.m. today at NO 125 at Route Y.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a westbound 2011 Moped driven by Eugene Hill, 49, failed to stop at the stop sign and was hit by a southbound 2000 Ford F-150 driven by Christopher Skinner, 35, Springfield.
Hill was pronounced dead the scene. It was the 41st fatality this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
