Dogs and their owners are invited to the 25th Annual Bark in the Park dog festival Saturday, June 14, 8 a.m. to noon on the Great Lawn at Nathanael Greene-Close Memorial Park, 2400 S. Scenic Ave., Springfield.
The event includes a 9 a.m. guided dog walk around Lake Drummond, a 10 a.m. Canine CPR demonstration, a 11 a.m. talent show for dogs and their families (categories: tricks, costumes, look-alike and tail wagging), as well as hands-on kids’ activities and a commercial and non-profit Canine Vendor Village.
Admission is $10 per dog and includes a (human) t-shirt, while supplies last. All proceeds benefit Cruse Dog Park, Springfield’s first off-leash dog park, operated by the Springfield-Greene County Park Board at 2100 W. Catalpa St.
Bark in the Park is presented by the Citizens Dog Park Committee and the Springfield-Greene County Park Board, with support from Pet Warehouse and Deerfield Veterinary Hospital.
