On June 23, 2020, at 2:03 p.m., Springfield Police were dispatched to 4120 W. Kearney after a 911 caller stated a person had been shot at that location. When officers arrived, they found a male subject deceased outside the home with an apparent gunshot wound.
The deceased was identified as Alexander S. Goeman, a 29-year-old male from Springfield. Next of kin notifications have been made. Daniel L. Smith, a 40-year-old male from Springfield, was arrested at the scene for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm however, no charges have been filed at this time.
The investigation is ongoing, and the case will be submitted to the Greene County Prosecutor for consideration.
