According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2019 Snapper 360Z lawn tractor driven by James R. Carter, 71, Marshfield, was backing in a driveway and overturned down a steep embankment ejecting Carter.
Webster County Coroner Michael Taylor pronounced Carter dead at the scene at 11:36 p.m.
The fatality was the 44th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
