Springfield residents injured, one seriously, after car struck by hit-and-run driver

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident 1:09 p.m. Sunday on South Charleston Avenue at East Swallow Street in southern Springfield.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2013 Chevrolet Cruz driven by Isaiah C. Meyers, 23, Springfield, was attempting to make a left turn when a 2015 Ford F-150 struck it causing it to skid off the left side of the roadway then struck a large rock on the driver's side.

The pickup driver fled the scene.

A passenger, Kaleb L. Davenport, 22, Springfield, was treated for serious injuries and Meyers for minor injuries at Cox South Hospital, Springfield.
