On August 13, 2020, at 2:05 a.m., Springfield police were dispatched to 710 W. Chicago after a 911 caller stated a person had been shot at the location.
When officers arrived, they found a male subject outside the home in the back-yard suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The male was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
The victim was identified as Travis Gauch, a 24-year-old male from Mountain Grove, Missouri, and next of kin notifications were made. A suspect has not been identified.
Detectives continue to investigate and are asking anyone who has information about this incident to contact the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810 or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 417-869- TIPS (8477).
