Utility work to facilitate the construction of an apartment building at 505 E. St. Louis Street will require the following traffic impacts in downtown Springfield beginning 7 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 25 through 3 p.m., Friday, Feb. 28:
-Trafficway Street will close to traffic directly north of the development site, located just west of the intersection of Trafficway Street and Kimbrough Avenue. Eastbound and westbound traffic on Trafficway Street is advised to follow the posted detour.
The short stretch of Benton Avenue located directly west of the project site will be modified to allow one-way traffic northbound only. This one-way direction is expected to remain for the duration of the project.
All businesses in the area will remain open and accessible. Motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to use caution when traveling near the work site and to respect all traffic control safety measures.
