Springfield police capture suspect in shooting death at 641 W. Brower

Timber R. Porter is in custody and investigation is ongoing.

Previous News Release

On November 4, 2019, at 4:49 p.m, Springfield Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 641 W. Brower after a 911 caller reported hearing gunshots. When officers arrived, they located a male victim with an apparent gunshot wound outside of 641 W. Brower.

Officers immediately rendered aid to the victim and he was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital, where he later died.

The victim was identified as 19-year-old Dearies Hempstead of Springfield. Next of kin notifications have been made for the victim.






 

Detectives have identified one suspect involved in this incident as Timber R. Porter (Pictured). Porter is an 18-year-old white male from Springfield. Porter has red hair, brown eyes, weighs approximately 180 pounds and is 6’4” tall. Porter may be traveling in a silver 2005 Chevrolet with Missouri License Plate MR7-N6B. The vehicle has damage to the rear passenger side quarter panel.

Timber Porter has not been apprehended and should be considered armed and dangerous. Do not attempt to apprehend the suspect and call 911 immediately if you see or know the location of Timber Porter.

Detectives continue to investigate and are asking anyone who has information about this incident to contact the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810 or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 417-869-TIPS (8477).
