According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2009 Toyota Camry driven by Donald W. Tannehill, 57, Sparta, failed to negotiate a curve, struck a fence and several trees.
Webster County Assistant Coroner Robbie Jernigan pronounced Tannehill dead at the scene at 6:31 p.m.
The fatality was the 100th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
