Branson Police arrest three on drug, weapons charges

(From the Branson Police Department)

A Branson Police Officer discovered drugs and a weapon following a routine traffic stop early Saturday morning (October 28) around 4:30 am. Three men were in the vehicle when the officer initiated the stop for traffic violations. The vehicle stop resulted in the arrest of three men for drug charges. The police officer also recovered a firearm and stolen property.

“The police officer discovered stolen property that had been taken from several motor vehicles in the area,” stated Assistant Police Chief Eric Schmitt. “As this traffic stop took place early in the morning, the victims had not even discovered their cars had been broken into and their property taken,” added Schmitt. Most of the stolen property has been returned to the owners. “The victims seemed very pleased to be contacted about their property before they even knew the crime had occurred,” stated Schmitt.

Springfield residents Gregory Komer, age 30 and Matthew Bressman, age 29 were both arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony. Branson resident Justin Walsh-Peterson, age 27, who was also in the vehicle was charged with possession of a class D felony amount of drugs. “He was also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm which is a class D felony,” stated Schmitt. All three were booked into the Taney County Jail.
