A Nixa man was killed in a one-vehicle accident 6:20 p.m. Tuesday on Route EE, two-tenths of a mile east of Highlandville.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1994 GMC Safari van driven by David B. Erwin, 55, Nixa, traveled off the right side of the road, overturned, struck a tree, overturned a second time and went through a fence.
Erwin was pronounced dead at 7:53 p.m. at Cox South Hospital, Springfield.
The fatality was the 99th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
