According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Dennis R. Spurlock, 52, Walnut Grove, traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck ground and overturned, ejecting Spurlock.
Spurlock was airlifted to Cox South Hospital, Springfield, where he was pronounced dead by Dr. Josh McEldery at 2:20 p.m.
The fatality was the 70th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
