Route 266 Bridge near Halltown to close

The Missouri Route 266 bridge over Pickerel Branch east of Halltown will CLOSE the week of September 14 for a bridge replacement project, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

The bridge will remain closed until early December 2020 to allow contractor crews to replace the old bridge with a new triple box culvert. The project also includes upgrading the guardrail on each end of the bridge.

Traffic Impacts

-Route 266 CLOSED at Pickerel Branch east of Halltown until early December 2020

-Drivers will have access to entrances at either end of the bridge but will not be able to drive through the work zone

-Signs and message boards will alert drivers to the closure

-Drivers will be directed to a signed detour using Greene County Route K, I-44 and Greene County Route T

The current bridge was built in 1932. Approximately 1,675 vehicles per day travel across the bridge. The current structure is in poor condition and in need of frequent repairs.

This bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.

Weather and/or construction delays could alter the work schedule.
