Springfield man flown to Mercy Hospital following fiery crash in Lockwood

A Springfield man was injured in a one-vehicle crash 1:28 p.m. Sunday on 10th Street at Cottonwood Street in Lockwood.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Christopher S. Maize, 61, Springfield, traveled off the end of 10th Street, struck a large asphalt pile, caught fire and burned.

Maize was airlifted to Mercy Hospital, Springfield, with serious injuries.
