According to the Highway Patrol report, Michelle A. Mize, 41, Nevada, was operating a 1988 Hurricane deck boat and accelerated while towing a tube. Ricky J. Berten, 23, Nevada, who was handling the rope to keep it out of the propeller, fell from the boat and the rope tangled around his leg.
Berten was flown to Mercy Hospital, Springfield, with serious injuries.
