According to the Highway Patrol report, an eastbound 2017 Jeep Cherokee driven by Jamie N. Merchant, 44, Berryville, Arkansas, was attempting to turn and was struck by a westbound Yamaha 4508 driven by Dylan E. Welker, 21, Eagle Rock, with Welker ejected from his vehicle.
Welker was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:40 p.m. by Barry County Deputy Coroner Gary Swearingen.
The fatality was the 49th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
