(From the Springfield Police Department)

Make time this Friday to give blood for a great cause and take home free food from Texas Roadhouse.

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks and the Springfield Police Department have teamed up to hold the 2nd annual Blood Drive in Honor of Officer Aaron Pearson. The drive will take place this Friday, March 15th from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Thomson Donor Center, 220 W. Plainview Rd., and from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Busch Municipal Building.

Everyone who participates will get a free t-shirt, free hot rolls with cinnamon butter and a gift card for a free appetizer from Texas Roadhouse.

Officer Aaron Pearson was shot in the line of duty in January 2015, and he required 20 units of blood during surgery for injuries that nearly took his life.
