Everton teen airlifted to Cox, three injured as car slams into tree, bursts into flames

Three people were injured in a one-vehicle accident 2:25 a.m. Saturday on Route O, four miles south of Greenfield.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a Pontiac Grand Am driven by James F. Maggard, 30, Ash Grove, failed to negotiate a curve, overturned, slammed into a tree and burst into flames.

A passenger, Billy E. Rose, 16, Everton, was taken by air ambulance to Cox South Hospital, Springfield, to be treated for serious injuries.

Two other passengers, Autumn M. Gladden, 29, Everton, and Ashley N. Bellman-Hart, 21, Ava, were treated for moderate and minor injuries, respectively, at Cox South.
