(From the Springfield Police Department0On June 9, 2021, at 2:10 a.m., Springfield Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of E. Atlantic St. after a 911 caller reported that a male subject had been shot.
When officers arrived, they found a male in the roadway who had suffered a gunshot wound. The male was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The victim was identified as Christopher L. Kuder, a 42-year-old male from Springfield, MO. Mr. Kuder’s next of kin has been notified.
The Springfield Police Department identified a suspect in the case as Mickal O. Johnson, a 22-year old male from Springfield, MO. Johnson was arrested, and the case will be presented to the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office for review and potential filing of criminal charges.
Detectives continue to investigate and are asking anyone who has information about this incident to contact the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810 or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 417-869-TIPS (8477).
This incident marks the eleventh homicide investigated by SPD in 2021.
