Kansas woman killed, Shell Knob man, Aurora teen airlifted to Mercy following head-on collision on 39


One person was killed and two others injured in a two-vehicle collision 7:15 p.m. Tuesday on MO 39 in Jenkins.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2004 Ford Taurus driven by Shirley L. Bell, Anthony, Kansas, crossed the center line and struck a 2006 Lincoln Zephyr driven by Jereme D. Fenley, 35, Shell Knob, head on.

Barry County Coroner Gary Swearingin pronounced Bell dead at the scene at 8:20 p.m.








Fenley and a passenger in his vehicle, a 14-year-old boy, were airlifted to Mercy Hospital, Springfield, to be treated for serious injuries.

The fatality was the fourth in October and the 95th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
