Springfield Teacher of the Year finalists named

Springfield Public Schools is pleased to announce the five educators named as finalists for 2020-2021 Teacher of the Year.

-Shannon Bossing, Harrison Elementary, Fourth Grade Teacher

-Betsy Cannella, Kickapoo High, Science Teacher

-Armando Johnson, Central High, Spanish Teacher

-Cary Sikes, Gray Elementary, Fourth Grade Teacher

-Michelle Slominsky, Sequiota Elementary, Kindergarten Teacher

Each year the five finalists are celebrated during a banquet hosted by the Foundation for Springfield Public Schools. Typically the banquet is held in April, however, it has been postponed until August due to COVID-19.

As a result of the necessary delay of the banquet, the 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year will be announced later this month so that the selected educator can participate in the regional and State competition.
