Springfield man killed in motorcycle crash at Broadway and Kearney

(From the Springfield Police Department)

On April 1st at 1:56 p.m., officers with the Springfield Police Department responded to the area of Broadway and Kearney Street regarding a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.

A 2006 Honda motorcycle, driven by 23-year-old Brandon Hudson, of Springfield, was traveling westbound in the outside lane of Kearney approaching Broadway from the east.

A 2016 Chevrolet Silverado, pulling an approximate 15 foot enclosed trailer, was eastbound on Kearney and entered the left turn lane to go north onto Broadway.

The Silverado truck and trailer entered the intersection and turned in front of the motorcycle which resulted in a collision. The driver of the Silverado did not report any injuries, however, Hudson died at the scene as a result of the crash.

Next of kin has been notified. The investigation is on-going as to the circumstances involved in the crash. Impairment does not seem to be a factor.

This is the fourth fatality motor vehicle crash in Springfield this year.
