Springfield man drowns as kayak capsizes under Springfield Lake Dam

A Springfield man drowned 10:47 p.m. Friday when his eight-foot Lifetime kayak capsized below the Springfield Lake Dam.

According to the Highway Patrol report, Timmothy D. Richardson, 30, Springfield, was thrown from the boat.







Richardson was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:59 p.m. Saturday by Greene County Medical Examiner Tom Van De Berg.

The death was the first boat crash fatality for Highway Patrol Troop D this year.
