Historic Commercial Street holding streetwide Mardi Gras February 22

On Saturday, Feb. 22, Historic Commercial Street welcomes you to spend the day (and night) celebrating Mardi Gras – New Orleans style.

Restaurants, shops and bars will offer food and fun for attendees beginning at 10am and continuing until midnight. This includes great food, music, special promotions and LOTS OF FREE BEADS!

Some things planned by businesses include:

Artisan’s Oven – French Baguettes, Bread Pudding, Beignets, Shrimp Boil Basket, Gumbo, and Blackened Redfish Etouffee.

Café Basilico – Mardi Gras Cheesecake and Fried Shrimp Po Boys









Ensley and Swann Boutique – Red Beans and Rice Samples and BEADS!

Van Gogh’s Eeterie – Bourbon Street Creole pancake: Creole seasoned crawfish, smoked sausage, pepper, onion and tomato on a Dutch Pannekoek with melted cheese. In addition, they will have specials on the French 75 and Hard Hurricane Mimosas.

Big Momma’s Coffee & Espresso – Jambalaya and New Orleans Coffee

Ruthies on C-Street – Masquerade Karaoke, King and Queen of Karaoke to be crowned and lots of prizes!

That Lebanese Place – Mardi Gras Special: Your choice of choice of Hummus or Baba Ghanouj, 2 bowls of Split Lentil Soup, 2 plates of Maaloubi, 2 desserts, and 2 glasses of wine (Clos St. Alphonse or Blanc de L’Observatoire)

Lindberg’s – Po Boys, Gumbo, Beignets, and New Orleans’s themed drink specials (such as Hurricanes and Sazerac) and Level Up/The Jason Kinney Band

Q’Enoteca – King Cake, mask decorating, and BEADS!

Moon City Pub – The group, Failing Minnesota, headlines the evening’s festivities

Hakaar’s Bazaar – Costume sale! $20 on ALL costumes.

A Wench in the Gear – Coffee and Cocoa, gifts and beads with purchase, discounted “off the rack” items as well as Dano deejaying and a whole line up of Creole and Cajun music all day!

Footbridge Trading Co. - Coffee, cocoa and snacks with lots of BEADS and free gift with purchase all day!

Café Cusco – Has fun drink specials on Sangria, Pisco Sour and Pineapple plantation, as well as, a delicious dish of spicy shrimp and chorizo fried rice with a fried egg feature.

Chabom Tea + Spices - Free beads and free tea samples all day!

Official Walking Tour and Event Announcements:

At “High Noon” visitors are invited to meet up at A Wench in the Gear where the day’s events will be officially announced and a walking tour will commence lead by C-Street’s own and Big Momma’s owner, Lyle Foster.
