Mrs. Jessica Wagner has been named principal of Sequiota Elementary, replacing Mrs. Crystal Magers, who will transition to Sherwood Elementary for the 2018-19 school year. Mrs. Wagner began her career with Springfield Public School as an elementary art teacher in 2009, serving at Weaver, Bissett, Boyd and Weller elementary schools. She has been leading the Springfield Public Schools Artworks program since 2012. Most recently, she has served the Bingham and Disney communities as Assistant to the Principal. She has demonstrated excellent leadership, personal and relational skills, loves students, and supports staff as they work to connect students to their learning.
“I am honored and elated to join the Sequiota tribe as their new leader, “ said Mrs. Wagner. “I look forward to partnering with teachers and families to continue the innovative practices and commitment to student success. I cannot wait to meet the staff, students, and parents of the Sequiota community.”
“We are very impressed by Mrs. Wagner and her passion for what learning experiences should include,” said Dr. J. Anderson, executive director of elementary learning for SPS. “She is driven to make school an amazing, positive place while holding the highest expectations for herself and those who teach our students. Sequiota will continue to provide a wonderful education to its community under the leadership of Mrs. Wagner.”
Mrs. Wagner holds a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education from Missouri State University, a master’s degree in instructional leadership from Drury University, and a specialist in educational leadership from Arkansas State University.
