Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, announces the results of a one-day Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program SAFETE operation in Greene County on June 6, 2018.
During the operation, troopers stopped 25 commercial vehicles and two passenger vehicles. Additionally, troopers conducted 23 commercial vehicle inspections, which resulted in two drivers and four vehicles being placed out-of-service. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation:
Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Violations -- 3
Misdemeanor Warrant Arrest -- 1
Speed Violations -- 2
Seat Belt Violations – 2
Other Hazardous Moving Violation --1
Troopers also issued 33 warnings for various other offenses during this operation.
The only 100 percent survivable traffic crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint.
