A Willard man was charged with driving while intoxicated following a one-vehicle accident 7:10 a.m. today on Route H, seven miles north of Springfield.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2000 Acura driven by John M. Goddard, 24, Willard, ran off the roadway and struck several trees.
Goddard, who was treated for serious injuries at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, was also cited for driving while revoked, no seat belt, and careless and imprudent driving.
