On late Sunday evening, 07/30/17, Greene County Sheriff's Deputies began a death investigation after locating the deceased bodies of 66-year old Robert O'Block and 27-year old Tiffany Fleming inside O'Block's home. GCSO Detectives served a search warrant at O'Block's home where evidence was collected; they have also interviewed a witness who was in the home during the disturbance as well as several of Mr. O'Block's employees.
"Autopsies were conducted earlier this week where Detectives learned Mr. O'Block and Ms. Fleming each sustained a single gunshot wound, consistent with evidence located at the crime scene," states Sheriff Jim Arnott.
"From all known facts and evidence, at this time, indicate Mr. O'Block murdered Ms. Fleming before committing suicide with a firearm. This is not a conclusion of the case as more factors and evidence continue to be analyzed before we are able to make any final determinations. The investigation is still ongoing and toxicology results are pending."
The GCSO is the primary investigating agency regarding Mr. O'Block and Ms. Fleming's deaths; the Springfield Police Department is conducting a separate investigation of events occurring at Mr. O'Block's Springfield business.
