First degree murder charges filed against Monett man who allegedly shot his father 19 times


The Barry County Prosecuting Attorney's office has filed first degree murder and armed criminal action charges against a Monett man who allegedly shot his father 19 times during an argument in the street at approximately 1 p.m. Monday in the street on the 400 block of 2nd Street.

According to the probable cause statement, Michael Creekmore, 27, said his father, Robert Creekmore, 50, tried to trip him, then hit him on the head.

 When the older Creekmore came toward him again, his son pulled a handgun from his waist and began shooting him.

Michael Creekmore called 911 after shooting his father 19 times. He was arrested without incident.
