A Billings woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash 10:30 a.m. today on MO 174, two miles west of Republic.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1996 Lincoln Town Car driven by Brenda H. Pickens, 72, Billings, turned into the path of a 1999 Volvo tractor-trailer driven by Burl D. LaRussa, 62, Republic, and was struck in the on the left side. The LaRussa vehicle ran off the roadway and overturned.
Greene County Medical Examiner Tom Vandeberg pronounced Pickens dead at the scene.
LaRussa was treated for moderate injuries at Cox South Hospital, Springfield.
The fatality was the 29th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
