Greene County deputies capture thief who stole package while they were watching

(From the Greene County Sheriff's Office)

Another thief is in the Greene County jail thanks to Cpl Cary and Cpl Foster.

The deputies were driving in the area of Atlantic and Kansas. Cpl Foster observed a male get out of a 1980’s style Ford Ranger, go up to a residence and take an item off of the front porch.

Cpl Cary attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the truck. The driver of the truck failed to yield and moments later the passenger (who stole the item) fled from the truck, on foot, in the area of Golden and High Street.

The thief left the item in the truck when he fled on foot. The thief was taken into custody; however the truck continued to Kearney and east towards Kansas Expressway at a high rate of speed.

Make sure you are using all of your available resources to secure your packages on your front porch. Use the drop off places for UPS, FedEx, and US Postal Service. Ask your employer to have the package delivered to your work. Ask a neighbor, you trust, to help out and pick up the package when you drop it off. Make sure you ask for a delivery confirmation text or email.
