(From the Springfield Police Department)On March 11, 2024, at 6:14 p.m., officers with the Springfield Police Department responded to a crash between a motorcycle and a vehicle in the 2500 block of North Glenstone Ave.
Edward Smith, 18, of Springfield, was driving a blue and white 2011 Yamaha motorcycle southbound on Glenstone when a blue 2019 Hyundai Elantra, driven by 60-year-old Kim Burbaugh, of Flemington, turned from northbound Glenstone into Smith’s path. The vehicles collided in the southbound lanes of Glenstone.
Smith died at the scene and Smith’s family has been notified.
The circumstances of the crash are under investigation.
This was Springfield’s third fatal motor vehicle crash in Springfield in 2024.
